ART AWARENESS: ALZHEIMER & AUTISM, CENTRO CULTURAL DOS CORREIOS, RIO DE JANEIRO

The International Contemporary Art Society of New York (NYICAS), Saphira & Ventura Gallery in partnership with the São Paulo Contemporary Art and Gastronomy Society (SIAGC) present “Conscious Art – A Global Initiative”. The project brings together a collective conference, speakers and exhibition of paintings, digital art, sculptures and installations with the theme of Alzheimer and Autism.

The pieces presented in the exhibition are by American Neil Kerman and Brazilian Marize Koerich, Paula Delmanto and Zé Dassilva. Neil Kerman reveals a dialogue with refinement of the creative process, a mixture of colors and different formats of screens. Alzheimer’s Awareness is used in the daily lives of patients in the artist’s homes, which also uses art as therapy to treat the disease. The benefits of art for people with Alzheimer’s extend to seeing works of art, such as that this interaction helps to alleviate the symptoms of the disease.
